I haven't updated in forever! I'm not sure why. I've had so many little things I've needed to get done, that when I did anything else I felt so guilty. But I finally managed to send out my Camp DVD's and I finally wrote my resignation letter for work, so they know I'm not coming back in January. (although, I'm still technically employed so I can work there on any of my breaks). I felt like a HUGE weight was lifted when I finished those things. Now I just have the GIANT stack of names and addresses to enter into the datbase for dad. But Tarah is helping me with it, so hopefully it will be done soon.

So, my family Christmas was this weekend. It was nuts trying to get ready for it though. Tarah and I had an epic trip to Kingston where we almost got run over, almost froze to death and almost got arrested at costco. Good times. (note to everyone, you CANNOT go in to costco with your mothers card, even if the picture is 3/4 scratched off and you have a letter of perission with you...A very angry cashierwill spank you with her eyes and look like she might call security, give you a big lecture and make you think you're going to have to put back all of your $200 of groceries piece by piece in shame. Luckily, she eventually let us through...tarah and I almost cried...or peed ourselves...it was scary)

Family Christmas was really fun, we stopped buying everyone a gift a few years ago, and now we do a 'chinese present exachange' also known as 'the present grabbing game' Everyone brings a gift on a theme (this year was 'relaxation'), you draw names and one at a time you take a gift either from the pile, or from someone who has already taken one. I ended up with a super comfy blanket. I also got some very nice things in my stocking and Julie gave me this gorgeous wrap/scarf thing. So yay for presents, and we're having a whole other christmas on actual Christmas! I ate a few two many home made gingerbread cookies (tarah and I are excellent bakers) with buttercream icing though..and My stomach is rather sore.

So my aunt, uncle and two cousins and Julie were going to leave yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately the giant storm (aka the BEAST) had hit us full force, tons of snow and wind that made the house feel like it was going to fall over. But they decided to leave anyway...I have a few pictures that I'll probably post later, but they were TOTALLY stuck in the bat for about half an hour. IT took six people pushing the car out of a giant snowbank, and using boards and stuff but they did finally get out. We called them about 20 minutes later and they were stuck at the gas station (that is about 5 minutes away.) They planned to continue on but Julie decided that there was no way she was getting back inthe car, so we got confirmation that it would be ok for her to make up her exam that she would miss and she would stay another night. Now, to rescue her from the gas station, dad called up a friend who lives along our service road, who has a snowmobile. So julie got rescued by snowmobile. Big adventure. lol.

The storm continued untill midnight or so, we have SO much snow it's unbeleivable. We haven't had this much for a really long time. Mom bought us a snowtubethough...so as soon as we get that filled up, we're going to try it out! yay!

So my manager from the portrait studio just called me...I'll be working 40 hours next week (I don't ever do more than 28) which is great..but I'll be spending the first three days in a giant Shrek mascot costume....yup...dressed as Shrek, running around a grocery store. I am awesomeness incarnate.

Incidentally, people in mascot costumes freak me out and I tend to avoid them at all costs...and I'm claustrophobic...this should be a really interesting experience.

Weirdest dream...EVER

Today I had a nap in the middle of the day and had the most BIZARRE dream. and I felt the need to record it in some form, so here it is for posterity, and your reading pleasure.

My family was going to see a show on Broadway, we were really excited because it was Annie. (now...in real life I don't think I would ever actually pay money to see annie unless I knew someone in it...) While we were waiting in line outside the theatre, Bernadette Peters is waiting in line and getting really impatient that they won't let her jump the line. She started yelling things like "I'm in costume for gods sakes, I just want my ice cream" which seemed really weird. Eventually someone asked to take a picture with her across the street and she went with them, there was the flash and then she dissapeared. Then mom and I ran in to the theatre, we were late. The overture was just finishing up so we ran to our seats, but apparently you had to put an american quarter in the seat to get it to fold down, we didn't have quarters so we had to sort of perch on top of the chairs. The stage didn't look like a stage, it looked like an old church where the altar had been ripped out and a platform had been stuck up...sort of like st. peters church in brockville...(I think thats the right one..we have sooo many churches...the one where the youth choir performed). And then the girls started sining 'maybe'. And it was awful. They weren't singing in time, adn some were singing the wrong notes. Then Annie (who was black, with ridiculously bright red hair...think lesley andrew...but black and 12 years old) started to sing, but because everyone had given her such a crappy intro, she couldn't find the tempo or the key. It was AWFUL. Then some guy (i think it was daddy warbux, because he was bald) rode an old fasioned bicycle in front of the front of the stage, from one side to the other ringing the bicycle bell, but he left the door to backstage open and I could see all the chorus people and more orphans smoking.

Then I woke up.

Am I on crack or what?

Ok..so a quote from annie as the title is cheesy...

NYC was awesome as it has been in the past.
We left on monday morning, we had intended to leave at around sixish, but true to our Kennedy nature we left at about 7:30. This was due to Tarah and myself staying up all night packing/doing laundry and making sure that the kitchen was clean so it wasn't overtaken by rodents while we were gone, and the fact that Craig had to drive to and from kingston three times in one day...or maybe two...he was in Kingston and he drove home, then he and Tarah took the dog up to kingston to drop him off at Julies to watch while we were gone, he got home and realized that he had left his passport in Kingston (which is sort of funny since the last thing mom said to him before he left was 'don't forget your passport') and so he needed to drive up and back again. The drive is about an hour. lol. So none of us got much sleep.
The drive wasn't too bad and we got into the city at about 3pm which is when our hotel check in was anyway. It was much nicer staying right in Manhattan (on times square) then in New Jersey. We were at the Hilton Double Tree hotel, it's actually attached to the Theatre where 'Legally Blonde' was playing, but more on that later. So upon checkin at our hotel, they gave us each a nice warm delicous chocolate chip cookie. I think that this is just about the coolest thing I have ever seen happen at a hotel, all hotels should give out cookies.

Anyway, we went to wander around a bit. One of our first stops was the M&M store...it was rather insane. However, there was a remix version of defying gravity playing that I loved...if anyone can find/download it they would be my hero. There was a giant wall of all kinds of different coloured M&M's in tubes that you could choose, and crazy weird souvenir and collectible stuff...

Then we headed out to dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, which has really tasty food and obviously a neat atmosphere with all the music paraphanalia around. After that headed back to the hotel, changed to see the show and headed off to the Nederlander theatre to see RENT. Now, I've seen RENT onstage twice (both times at the NAC in ottawa, the First Time was in '98 and it was the original Canadian cast, the second time was in 2001 and it was a touring cast) and I've seen the movie a million times. So I wasn't particularly keen on seeing it again, especially because Tarah saw it on Broadway back in march and said it was just awful. However, I noticed in one of my broadway mailings that Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascall were doing a limited run as Mark and Roger. So I mentioned this to my dad who LOVES Rent and he got all excited and bought us all tickets, even though we were already going to a show the next night. So we went to see it.

Now, if you think Adam and Anthony are fantastic in the movie, multiply it by about 100 and that is how good they are onstage. HOLY CRAP! The whole show was unbelievably good. I had massive shivers the ENTIRE time. Mimi was great, she was on American Idol in the first season I think..but she was fan-tastic! Collins was good but not as good as Jesse Martin, although he really was awesome in 'I'll cover you reprise'. Nicolette Hart was Maureen and she was AWESOME! a little screamy sometimes but she just had the character nailed, She is definitely my favorite Maureen I've seen live, adn I liked her almost on Par with Idina. Joanne and Angel were really good too. I cried a little during the show, and A LOT during the end when angel comes back out for the final bit. Craig, Mom, Dad and Tarah cried pretty much through the whole show. Adam Pascall was heartbreakingly good...and 'livin in america' was SOO good...it was just..so good. If there is anyway you can get to NYC in the next few weeks, do it and see RENT.
After the show we went to stand out by the gate to get autographs, but it took FOREVER for any of them to come out. I caught the guy that played Benny sneaking out the front doors of the theatre and talked to him for a bit and got his autograph. While there was a mass of people crushed around the stage door gates Adam Pascall snuck out the front doors as well, but Me and about 15 other people happened to be standing in that area, he said he was in a rush and wasn't signing anything that day, but I was within ten feet of him..for real. He's pretty. lol. Anthony Rapp came out and spent probably about 15 or 20 minutes signing stuff, I just couldn't push to the front of the Gate, since I had been over by the doors, but Tarah did, and got his autograph, I got a great picture of the back of his head though..lol.

He was really nice and spent a lot of time with the fans. Nicolette Hart also came out adn I did get her autograph, she's really nice, I was actually the last person to get her autograph before she headed back in for the night. Anthony Rapp's car was pulled up to the gate and he got in and drove away when he was done..very fancy. The rest of the actors were running to catch subways/busses.

We walked around for a while after that looking for some sort of food, we got pizza at this tiny pizza by the slice place, it was really good. Then we headed back to the hotel. We didn't really realize how late it was, so we ordered a movie and watched Knocked Up (which is rather hilarious) but didn't end up going to bed till 3am. Yikes!

The next morning we got up and headed for a day of walking around and seeing some sights. Mom and I were of to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (I wanted to go to MOMA but she thought it was all really postmodern pretentious crap which she doesn't like so we didn't go, even though in reality it's full of Van Gogh and all kinds of neat stuff...) and Dad and Craig were off to the Natural History Museum. Tarah didn't really want to go to either and ended up going with Craig and Dad. Our first stop though, was the Capezio store at Broadway and 51st. Capezio is a dance clothing/shoes brand and this is their flagship store. I'm basically in love with it. I want to go back and get all my stuff for school there, I didn't buy any shoes but I got some dance pants, some T-shirts, two tie up wraps and some leg warmers! yay! Tarah was buying stuff too...it was a neat store. Then, to get to the museums, instead of taking a cab or the subway we thought we'd walk through Central park. I don't think we really realized that this would be a two hour walk, it's like 30 blocks up the park or something, and with the winding paths and uphill-ness it was quite a trek. The park is beatiful and I'm glad we went, but this was the beginning of the soreest of sore feet. some pictures from that walk...

these two were rehearsing a dance for something on this stage, it was neat.

I LOVE this statue/fountain. It's in 'The Producers' and 'Angels in America' and it's awesome.

The Museum turned out to be pretty interesting but all that walking around was starting to take a toll, especially because I'd been running around in heels the night before. Mom had pretty bad blisters too. So we needed to get to the Apple store (as in Mac computers) to meet Craig, Dad adn Tarah so we started walking. We made it about 8 blocks before mom actually couldn't take another step her feet hurt so much and we had about 20 or so blocks to go, so we grabbed a taxi.

I LOVE the apple store. I could spend all day in there. Tarah checked her email, Craig called Julie on the iPhone, and now desperately wants one. I bought a little digital recorder attachment for my iPod and an AC adapter charger thingie. I still sort of want a macbook pro. But I think I may just end up spending all the money I have saved up (gift money) on really fixing up this computer, new DVD burner, Firewire connection etc. But still...macbook= pretty...*Sigh*. We went into FAO Shwartz and played on the piano and looked at all the awesome toys. then Mom, Tarah and I went to Abercrombie and Fitch because Tarah Desperately wanted to and Dad and Craig went to 'Top of the Rock' (which is like going to the top of the empire state building, but on the rockefeller center, we did it last time) Abercrombie was as loud and smelly as always, but I bought a tank top and tarah bought a bunch of clothes. Then, Tarah, mom and I ran to the restaurant where we were meeting Craig and Dad for dinner. It was an Irish pub, though none of us got Irish food, and it was very classy and tasty.

So we headed up to the hotel and then headed to our theatre, we ended up kind of having to run because Tarah has this habit of striding at least half a block in front of everyone so she can feel like a local I guess...I’m not sure. Anyway, because of that and my mistaking one street for another we ended up two blocks away from our theatre, and we had to run! Lol. We did get there with plenty of time though. And our seats were really good, about 10 rows back on the aisle on the side.
Spamalot started sort of slow. It was good and entertaining but it wasn’t WOW or anything. However, the second act introduced the character of Prince Herbert, who is hilarious in the movie but this was about a zillion times funnier. I laughed really hard the entire time he was onstage. Really, this guy dancing in a fruit hat was worth the entire price of the ticket. It was great. The whole second act was actually good, much more exciting than the first, and funnier and generally better. After the show we didn’t stick around for autographs, but we ran right into Sardis which is ‘the’ theatre restaurant apparently. No broadway stars were hanging around while we were there, but they had the best cheesecake I’ve ever eaten in my entire life, and I’ve had a lot of cheesecake. After that we headed to the Broadway New York store in Schubert Alley (after walking through the alley taking ridiculous pictures of ourselves, becasue that's what we do).

I bought three vocal selecitons books (I'm an addict..I know) Drowsy Chaperone, I love you, You're perfect, now change and Urinetown oh..and a little keychain..because I was feeling touristy. Then we headed home and went to bed.

Our last day was spent in Soho, Chinatown and Little Italy. Soho was fun, I shopped at Banana Republic which was actually decently priced and had some fairly OK sale prices. I got new jeans which I needed! yay!
We wandered into Little Italy for lunch, and had tasty pasta at a cute little restuarant, the first one we ran into actually because we were starving. After that we walked down the streets of little Italy. Then we saw a cute jewelry so we headed in. When I walked out the chinese lady that was working in there asked if I wanted to buy a handbag...I was confused as her shop didn't sell handbags and her accent was thick and I had no idea what she was saying. So I said no. But then Craig and Tarah (craig was supposed to buy a bag for Julie) come out of the store and follow her down the street, to an illegal bag vendor, however, the guy said no customers today. Tarahs main goal was to get a bag that day but her and Craig started asking everywhere and they were told that no one was selling them that day...not sure why. But china town was neat, lots of open markets full of dead dried fish, one big barrel full of giant live frogs that were for cooking that I felt really sorry for...and how does one transport live frogs that you've just bought...I mean really?! The thing that I thought was the most neat though was how quickly things shifted from little Italy to Chinatown, it was almost immediate, a really neat thing to do was to walk up one of the blocks that seperates them. Also, I forget what street it was on, but there was a hagen daas ice cream store/parlor, I got the most amazing smoothie...mmmmm. Anyway, after a big more shopping we made our way back up to Soho and jumped on the subway to take us back to times square. The NYC subway has a lot more get-up-and-go than the TTC, it really takes off with a jerk. It takes a while to get used to! When we got back to Times square Tarah remembered that she had desperately wanted to go to Mme. Tussauds wax museum, and it was right down the street. Mom and I wanted to shop at Sketchers anyway, so we split up. I bought a really cute pair of shoes with music notes on them and mom bought two pairs. Craig and Tarah were still in the wax museum so mom and I went running to theatre books, or circle theatre books or whatever it's called, it's a broadway suvenir shop attached to a theatre book store, and I bought two scripts, one to the secret garden (which I listened to the other day and started crying...it's sooo beautiful) and the other to spring awakening, which really, is just weird. I think the show has to be seen to be appreciated. and then back to the hotel.

I loved this building in Chinatown...it's so Bright!

We grabbed all of our stuff and headed out to our car which was in the parking lot just down the block and over. As we are rolling our suitcases past the building however, we pass this blond girl leaning up against the side of the building talking on a cell phone saying "no...you know..I'm doing better now..so..." and first thing I think is, wow...I LOVE her flip flops. (they were shiny gold, very pretty) then I look at her face and think, gee...she looks familiar. I do a bit of a double take, and then look at the giant poster she's leaning up against...of Elle Woods for Legally Blonde the Musical (remember how our hotel is attached to the theatre? The stage door is on the side! And I think...Oh..That's Laura Bell-Bundy. Behind me, Craig and Tarah do the same sort of double take, as soon as we're a minute in front of her all three of us were all...That was Laura Bell-Bundy and we got all excited. While Dad was waiting for the car to come down, I grabbed my camera (with it's papparazzi like zoon capabilities) and ran back out (now across the street from her) hoping to get a picture. (I would have asked the first time we passed her...but she was on the phone). Alas..As I got out she was ducking in the stage door...I stood their, slightly grumpy for a second, and saw Christian Borle (playing Emmett, husband to Sutton Foster in real life) go in the door. AHH!! It was really neat, too bad that I didn't get a picture or get to talk to them though. I think LBB is only a few years older than me. Next time I'm in NY though, I really want to see it..I know it will be cheesy, but I think it would be fun!

After that it was pile in the Car and head home...All in all a really great trip to new york...where I spent way to much money on fun stuff!

look at all my loot! tee hee! and with that..this enormous entry can come to an end!

apparently I can smell evil..or at least extreme creepiness...

So Mom and Tarah and I went grocery shopping at the superstore at 8:30 tonight, right before it closed. (I handed in my resume to work at the portrait studio as well..we'll see how that goes) And as I was standing in line at the checkout (mom was grabbing some last minute item and Tarah was looking for something and also not in line) this guy comes and stands behind me in line, not a creepy thing as this is the only checkout available, and then suddenly it was like everything smelled weird and all my hair stood up and I was incredibly creeped out. It wasn't a bad smell, like he stunk, or a creepy smell like too much alchol or pott, it was just, wrong. So I start freaking out a little and the guy asks to cut in front of me because all he has is this one thing of pre-prepared chicken. So I say sure go ahead, to get him away as fast as possible. Whereupon he asks the cashier "so...are you here all alone tonight?" in an extrememly creepy voice. When she had checked him through she called her supervisor because she was totaly creeped out and that was the second time he had come through her cash in the last 20 minutes. When we finaly got through and left with our groceries he was standing in the front entrace of the store...eating his chicken and staring at the entrace door. It was really really creepy..when tarah walked past him all her hair stood up...it was weird, I've never had the instict to just run the second I came near someone. Mom went back in and told the cashier that he was still there, security was kicking him out as we drove away... but all in all, very creepy. And I'm creeped out that it was a weird smell that tipped me off. I mean, I've always had a good sense of smell but apparently..I can smell badness...

weird.

I have a university degree...and I am unprepared for real life. I have NO IDEA how to write a cover letter.
I googled it and got some fairly vague outlines of what should be in a cover letter but as my education and background have pretty much nothing to do with the jobs I'll be applying for (bank teller, waitress, retail etc) I really don't know what to do as my examples aren't very helpful the examples that I could find were for things like summer internships with big pharmaceutical companies.
As with most things that I don't know how to do, I've just been putting this off...that is not good as I need a job so that I can go to school in January...eeeps! Any help would be appreciated! does anyone have a copy of their cover letters applying for jobs like these that I could look at? You could be my personal hero!

Harry Potter, Harry Potter uh! Harry Potter, Harry Potter Ya

Phew....I'm done. Harry Potter that is. Wow.

I loved it. I really really loved it. Although I don't think I've ever cried quite so much while reading a book. As Harry is walking to his death with the sort of ghosts of his parents, Lupin and Sirius, I was BAWLING. Mom (who had finished reading it last week) was going, whats wrong? And I was all.. "*sniffle*..I don't think..*hiccup*...that I can finish...*Sniffle*...reading this..it's just too...*sniffle* ... awful." It was rather ridiculous. Im 23 years old bawling and saying I can't finish the book. lol. I always cry when he sees his parents though, in any form, so ya.

I KNEW he was the last horcrux! But somehow that didn't translate in my mind to, "he will have to walk willingly to his own horrible death." Yikes. I liked how she was able to have him die though and definitely still have the impact of him actually dying, without him actually dieing. Very clever. That whole thing with Lillys protection also being part of Voldemort, I had to read the sentence twice. Crazy. They were SO ridiculously connected.

I was so sad for Lupin and Tonks, and their poor baby. Plus Fred of course. And Was anyone else ridiculously sad for Hedwig? I was surprised how much that upset me. Plus when his wand broke! AHH! that was just awful! And poor little Dobby, who I never even really liked (or sort of liked in the book, but didn't like at all in the movies) It was so sad...little knife in his chest...poor thing. But I was really surprised that Ron, Hermoine, Harry, Ginny, Neville and Luna all made it out alive. There were a lot of deaths, but not any big giant ones. Or they happened so quikcly that it didn't seem like it was so huge (like Lupin).

There was way too much of the book without Neville, I was just thinking..This is way too many pages without Neville, when he popped through the portrait/tunnel thing, so that was good.

Things that sort of dissapointed me... I thought Ginny would play a bigger role, they really build up that she is super powerful, and then she didn't do a whole lot (other than survive, which was hard enough), also I would have liked to have known what happened to Luna during the epilogue, and who was headmaster of Hogwarts. But other than that, I really loved the whole thing. I started crying again at "Albus Severus" that was just way too much for me, lol. I always knew Snape was good..but then about halfway through this book I was having serious doubts. I really loved the trip through snapes memories though.

*sigh*

Now I'm just sad that it's over. Mom and I watched the first movie...it was cute. lol.

He's a Maltese (supposedly purebred, but we got him from a petstore, not a breeder so he has no papers, which is fine) he's super tiny, really really friendly and easygoing and loves to run around outside. Dad and Craig brought him home today and ran him aroudn so much that he was totaly pooped when we (Mom, Tarah and I) got home from Ottawa.
He is yet to be named. Dublin was the main choice and we'd sort of been calling him that in the petstore...but Dad isn't sure he liked it. I like Guiness (ginny for short!) Tarah hates it, we all like Liam, but Tarah wants to name one of her kids that someday and doesn't want it to be weird, also currently underconsideration is 'Aidan'. Clearly we want some sort of irish inspired name for the pup.

tee hee!

Yesterday morning I was awakened (awoke?) by a bloodcurdling scream from downstairs where I thought my sister was being brutally murdered. So I run to the top of the stairs and she is screaming and pointing "SQUIRREL!" and there was a squirrel panicking and running all over our dining room...it was weird. He eventually dove under the couch (after trying to get out of all the screened windows and launching himself hedlong into the glass door.). Where he remained trying to poke his out out for about half an hour...I caught the little monster on film...

My mom threw a corn muffin out the door and after a lot of waiting she stood on the side of the room away from the door and made noise until he escaped. He ran way. We closed the door and five minutes later, he came back and stole the corn muffin!!! This is a squirrel unafraid of people. But we coudln't figure out how he got in....until we went to check Tarahs room...

He had chewed a hole in the screen!
and broken her guitar lamp!

She then yelled at me to stop taking pictures like a CSI. So I did. But there was no food in her room and NO reason for the squirrel to go to the trouble of chewing through her screen...weird.
I caught him hanging around the glass doors at the front...looking for away to get in..he's not afriad of people either...I think Dad or Craig may be going on a hunt this evening....

yipes!
Frisbee T.C.D Kennedy...

He's gone. It was so sad. I've randomly been crying all day, and then I think, this is dumb, he was just a dog, then I think, no it's totaly justified he was a member of my family for 14 years and it's sad and weird that he's gone.

He would sing with me, he would wake Tarah up when her sugar was critically low and no one else noticed (about four cases of this happening...I have no idea how he knew), he would run around like crazy after a bath and let Tarah dress him up in pj's when she was little. He would always greet us at the door when you came home, or lie near you when you were sick. He was completely devoted to my dad. I used to make little jumps in the front yard and make him go over them. He would attack any dog bigger than him to 'protect' us and always barked at the bad guys or any animal on the TV. (he could pick out a badguy before we could sometimes) I'm so very very sad that he's gone.

*sigh*

The TCD stands for 'the christmas dog' as he was a Christmas present even though we technically got him november 17th. We got a fax from Santa that there was an exciting present waiting for us at home, Dad got a fax from Santa telling him that there was a dog waiting for us at the Humane society in Ottawa and frisbee's ID number (I saw both faxes..and they were from the number 1 800 north pole, so I'm pretty sure they were legit! :) ) and there he was. When dad picked him up he was a mere two hours away from being put down because of his chronic ear infections that made him 'unsuitable' for adoption. (a totaly easy fix with antibiotics) And then he was ours for 14 years. I named him. We wanted to call him 'frisky' because he was..well..jumping around and frisky..but Craig had a fish named Frisky at the time and you can't have two pets of the same name so I figured Frisbee was kind of close. And thus the crazy name was born. He was about two when we got him...and 16 is really old for a dog, and he was very sick and unhappy...so it really was time for him to go. He even seemed happy to be at the vet, which is totaly totaly unlike him. And it was really quick, and totaly painless, he just relaxed...lay down and went to sleep. And it was so hard to leave him there, except that it was with the vet that really liked him...so, that made it easier. We pick up his ashes next week and we're going to bury him in the garden.

*sigh*

I'm going to miss him.

I keep crying, it's really ridiculous.

And for more fun, we were sitting on the couch watching a movie, and my mom found a tick on her neck. (we live in the country and yet we've never seen ticks before (Any of us)) So that prompted a massive freak out, running around, calling telehealth and everyone checking each other for ticks. Followed by everyone fighting too go first for a really hot shower. (I got to go second) *shudder* We have the little thing in a ziplock bag...apparently there are more of them than usual this year. yipee.

This was officially a bad day.

Ok..so I haven't been watching any of my TV shows lately because I've had no time (V-mars, which is done anyway, Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Gilmore girls) so tonight I had time..and I downloaded all the Battlestar ones, watched about five and made it through the season finale. Holy crap! I get affected by TV WAY to much, I was sitting there BAWLING during one episode, and during the season finale I was totaly creeped out, and then sat there for ten minutes with my jaw hanging open..it was SO amazing. But now I have to wait until JANUARY!!! for the next episodes... *sigh*. I like good storytelling way to much..lol. It's addictive! Next project...catch up on LOST!

In other news..Im at my limit of 15 userpics...This makes me very much want to buy a paid account.....hmmmmm....

Week of Craziness OVER!

So a week of relative craziness has come and gone. The whole weekend was Easter related activities, including a nice dinner and fun times with little cousins.
Monday night was fun LMT dinner at Mongolian, good times!

Tuesday was my skills performance exam, for which I had to use the paper because it was so damn hard! and I was REALLY freaking out that I had failed the course (and therefore, not earned my degree!) However, I did just get my skills mark back yesterday, and I did pass! (not even a D- a good solid D!!!) Hooorah! this means I get to graduate! yay!

Wednesday was my jury! eeeks! Stressfull! But it went pretty well and I had a massive sleep the night before (I actually got into bed when the clock still said..PM! shocking!) They didn't ask for one song that I actually really wanted to sing...but luckily it was one I was doing in my recital..so I did get to perform it. Even the crazy 20th Century piece that Heidi and I had never done without stopping and Lynda had never heard the accopmaniment for, went well. One small mistake where I had to slide up to the right note quickly, but other than that it was all good!

Thursday was my opera history exam, which I was FREAKING out about. However, I studied as much as I could (with less than 24 hours to study...I tend to take things like this one at a time, so when they're close together, it poses a problem for me...), and I think I did fairly well on the exam, and I got my paper back wiht a good mark, despite the fact that she personally disagreed with almsot everything I said. Ah well..the comments she wrote are hilarious! Some are helpful, some are just funny. (ie: puccini would role over in his grave~!) I spent thursday night making programs for...

MY RECITAL! was on friday. It wasn't just mine, it was Danielle and Angela as well. It was probably the most thrown together, fly by the seat of your pants recital ever in the history of Laurier, but thats ok. We actually managed to make 318 pretty, my mom bought tons and tons of flowers to make it look nice, we had fruit and goodies (some that my grandma made) and cheese and crackers and Punch! (we realized that none of us how to make punch..so I made up a punch recipe and everyone loved it...its very simple: Gingerale, Cranberry juice, frozen lemonade concentrate, frozen fruit...mmmm! mix in bowl...the end) My songs went well, I liked my dress and I wore my hairband with the fun feathery thing for my Weill song...it was very diva-ish..I enjoyed.

Close up of weird headband...weird or cool? You decide!

Me after the recital with flowers from my Grandmas and aunt!

All three of us afterwards...

My parents, sister, two grandmas, aunt and cousin were all there plus music student friends and LMT friends..so that was great! I felt good about my singing, particularly the Amy Cheney Beach songs...they are so fun! and are full of high notes! tee hee... It's funny, but a lot of my friends haven't heard me sing classical...and My family hasn't really either, for a long time, and never like this. So that was really exciting! Im excited to get the recording! yay! Ally and her boyfriend came up from Brockville/Montreal to see the recital...afterwards we watched her 'Little shop of Horrors' production from this year and my 'Bat Boy'. It was rather fun. I forgot how much I loved our show until I watch the DVD again..Im SOO proud of it, for myself and for the club and for everyone who worked on it..its just...amazing. And as many problems as we've had with exec...hearing about how allys theatre club is run makes ours sound like some kind of utopia... so that's always good to hear.

So now Im super exaughsted and should go to bed..though tomorow will be a day of lounging around and going to Lianes grad recital! yay!

So now I only have ONE more exam..EVER in my University career, and it's not for a week! I say party/packing time! yay!

So now Im about halfway through the week of deathness..because unlike other horrible weeks of work, this one continues all the way through the weekend.
I would like to state, that as of yet, I have not skipped or missed any classes this week. That is quite an acheivement for me. Im not sure I've gone a whole week without missing anything (not even a tech) for the whole term (with the possible exception of the first week of class...but I doubt it). Which is pretty much bad news. What I haven't done yet this week though, is tech hours for opera. Im signed up for some strike hours though, as well as making rosaries and going to Lucy's Mudhouse to decorate pottery for the show, which is exciting. So that will kill a bunch of hours.
I also haven't done my vocal ped teaching observations...at all. I really really need to get on that.

However, I have been midly productive. I know how four out of five jury pieces picked for sure, I know three of them really well - two are memorized. I think I know what I'm doing for my fifth piece, I just need to see if its doable with heidi in a short time. My room is very clean, my fishbowl finaly got cleaned out today (it smelled completely foul..it smelled like...I'm not even going to tell you what it smelled like), and Im about halfway done my skills presentation prep. It's on a Jason Robert Brown song..tee hee..Im going to sneak musicals into as many courses as I can!!

I want randolph to call....I really really hope I got in, and Meagan too. *stressed* gah. Every now and then I think about it and I get all freaked out. and I've had "Pray Pray Pray, I pray I make RAPA" stuck in my head all day. (randolph academy of performing arts...it fits with the song if you speed that bit up).

In other exciting news...floors are being put into my house! (not my apartment, but my house at home!) We haven't had floors since we ripped up the old ones five years ago! I'm SO excited!

And now back to the week of deathness...
