I haven't updated in forever! I'm not sure why. I've had so many little things I've needed to get done, that when I did anything else I felt so guilty. But I finally managed to send out my Camp DVD's and I finally wrote my resignation letter for work, so they know I'm not coming back in January. (although, I'm still technically employed so I can work there on any of my breaks). I felt like a HUGE weight was lifted when I finished those things. Now I just have the GIANT stack of names and addresses to enter into the datbase for dad. But Tarah is helping me with it, so hopefully it will be done soon.

So, my family Christmas was this weekend. It was nuts trying to get ready for it though. Tarah and I had an epic trip to Kingston where we almost got run over, almost froze to death and almost got arrested at costco. Good times. (note to everyone, you CANNOT go in to costco with your mothers card, even if the picture is 3/4 scratched off and you have a letter of perission with you...A very angry cashierwill spank you with her eyes and look like she might call security, give you a big lecture and make you think you're going to have to put back all of your $200 of groceries piece by piece in shame. Luckily, she eventually let us through...tarah and I almost cried...or peed ourselves...it was scary)

Family Christmas was really fun, we stopped buying everyone a gift a few years ago, and now we do a 'chinese present exachange' also known as 'the present grabbing game' Everyone brings a gift on a theme (this year was 'relaxation'), you draw names and one at a time you take a gift either from the pile, or from someone who has already taken one. I ended up with a super comfy blanket. I also got some very nice things in my stocking and Julie gave me this gorgeous wrap/scarf thing. So yay for presents, and we're having a whole other christmas on actual Christmas! I ate a few two many home made gingerbread cookies (tarah and I are excellent bakers) with buttercream icing though..and My stomach is rather sore.

So my aunt, uncle and two cousins and Julie were going to leave yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately the giant storm (aka the BEAST) had hit us full force, tons of snow and wind that made the house feel like it was going to fall over. But they decided to leave anyway...I have a few pictures that I'll probably post later, but they were TOTALLY stuck in the bat for about half an hour. IT took six people pushing the car out of a giant snowbank, and using boards and stuff but they did finally get out. We called them about 20 minutes later and they were stuck at the gas station (that is about 5 minutes away.) They planned to continue on but Julie decided that there was no way she was getting back inthe car, so we got confirmation that it would be ok for her to make up her exam that she would miss and she would stay another night. Now, to rescue her from the gas station, dad called up a friend who lives along our service road, who has a snowmobile. So julie got rescued by snowmobile. Big adventure. lol.

The storm continued untill midnight or so, we have SO much snow it's unbeleivable. We haven't had this much for a really long time. Mom bought us a snowtubethough...so as soon as we get that filled up, we're going to try it out! yay!

I slept all day..it was pretty much fabulous.
Also, despite the fact that there isn't a whole lot to do in Brockville, I am reminded of how much I like my family, when, right after dinner, my dad Cranks 'Another Day' from rent to the point where it is shaking the whole house because he "just likes that song". Good times.
Hopefully there will be some toboganning or something tomorow, that would be fun.

So today was a pretty decent day, and a nice start to the long weekend. I wrote my exam for my distance ed course today at noon, which sucked having an exam this weekend but it was nice to get it over with. Came home, had a nap/watched a movie with my little cousin and then the golf tourney began. At one point there were about 35 people in my family room dancing the macarena singing their lungs out, at least 15 of these were severly intoxicated adults. As craig keeps saying..."I love my family". We're just bizzare. We just had 19 kids swimming down at the dock in the dark (and by kids I mean 13-22) it was awesome, the water is SO warm, like a bath, way warmer than the air. We all jumped in at once...it was ridiculously fun...but in the spirit in the evening, I'm off to have some wine!
Hope everyone else is having a fabulous holiday weekend too!!

Well, Today is a day that many thought would never come. Some have called it, "impossible" or "blasphemous". What is it you ask?
Did Seanna finaly get her drivers license? No.
Did the Kennedy's finaly finish their house? No.
What is it you ask with baited breath???
The Kennedy's after 8 years, have gotten TV. Thats right, digital cable is now streaming into our house. How excited are we? Tarah and I watched for forty minutes, realized it was all dumb and went back to our Buffy DVD's. lol. Oh well, the real benefit is the super high speed internet. Thank god!!! It's taken years for it to be available out here, dad was literally calling the cable guys every two weeks for at least two years. No more ridiculously slow dialup hoorah!! Downloading of veronica mars/gilmore girls season 6/ battlestar galactica to commence....now.
now if only the boat would come.....
In other news, my legs bend now! not alot and not well, and it still hurts, but i went down the stairs without crying or swearing. yay!

So I had a very busy weekend!

On friday Tarah had an appointment at CHEO so we went up to Ottawa and went shopping. We went to the Bayshore mall and stopped in American Eagle (Tarah's current favourite store) where NOTHING ever fits me, but she's always in there for hours, so I figured I'd try some stuff on, mostly to pass the time. I ended up with a great pair of shorts and four tops (three tanks, one T-shirt) that were all on sale. One of the tanks tarah actually has in her size in the same colour. She was really angry I bought it, it was funny. After the mall we went to my aunt and uncles house for dinner as it was my little cousins fifth birthday. Both of them are so adorable, and were SOOOO hyper. But it was fun. Plus Craig came home that evening, so that was good.

Saturday morning Craig, Tarah and I went to watch Mom and Dad in the Dragon Boat Races. It was actually a lot of fun. Maple leaf had a tent thing set up and the minute I got there I was handed a mamosa, lol. THe races were actually pretty excited. Maple Leaf (my dad's company that they were rowing for) ended up coming Fourth (or first in the B division) out of forty teams, so that was kind neat. Plus I got to babysit an adorable little 10 month old during the one race where both of his parents were rowing. SOOO cute. Then we headed off to rehearsal from 1:40 - 7:00. Long day! But things went well. Then it was off to the Mill for dinner for Craig's B-day, and home for cake. I also played D&D for the first time. (dungeons and dragons, yes yes...ive reached a whole new level of geekiness) It was actually kind of fun, because its basically like a big choose your own adventure book, except that craig can make things up and and kill you (he's the narrator or "dungeon master", lol.) if he feels like it.

Sunday was sunday in the park! Rehearsal from 1-4 went really well, we sounded FANTASTIC! Then we went to the park, and after a few small crises, such as not having enough stands, the piano being really late etc, we got fully set up and decided to start. Unfortunately, the sound guy didn't bring any moniters at all. and we had 13 people singing with one piano in an outdoor open air concert. We coudln't hear each other or the piano if there was more than one person singing at a time. So we thought the group numbers were pretty much a disaster. But when we listened to the video afterwards it seemed like the sound actually mixed really well from the audiences point of view. Our timing was a little off in one or two places, but not nearly as sketchy as we thought. and even if we could have heard each other, a little roughness is to be expected with a group of 12 - 24 year olds who only practiced several songs with difficult harmonies for a total of about 6 hours. The crowd was tiny (we had the first park date, which is alwasy low) but they were appreciative. They ate up anything Craig sang, and they LOVED 'The Girl in 14G', I was really hoping my old voice teacher would be there to hear it, but she wasn't. *gah* and I got all of the coloratura stuff right! way better than at the LMT revue. Oh well.

Today Ive just been doing some theatre related work stuff, and went to yoga with a different teacher, as our other sessions finished last week. This teacher is different, less meditation, more quick moving poses, which is fine with me. As long as there is shavasinad at the end (my sanskrit spelling is attrocious, it means corpse pose) then I'm all good.

and thats it for me, this is HUGELY long.

So the saga of scary spiers continues....Tarah is sleeping on the couch because she found two in her room today (one of which I killed on her ceiling with a DVD case) so I havn't told her about the one on the family room ceiling that mom killed with a broom last night.

On IMDB it now has Michelle Phiefer and Rowan Atkinson listed as cast members for Hairspray. I really wish I could have made at least one more level...gah. well we'll see how it goes.

Mothers day was fun, we picked craig up in kingston and the car died coming back home, we were stranded on the edge of the road on the parkway, in the pouring rain, with really crappy cellphone reception that lasted long enough for us to call three or four people begging for rescue, but none were home, then the reception died. So we trekked up to the house (by now chilled from the rain and running around trying to get cell reception) of this nice lady who had a poodle with a pearl necklace...and was wearing (the lady, not the poodle) a t-shirt that said "FUCK LA MONDE" which I thought was pretty funny cause she was really nice to us. We eventually called Joe who came out to rescue us..yay joe!! Another Kennedy family adventure successfully solved. lol.

Tomorow we have our first Into the Woods thing which is exciting! and Jess and I are going to plan out sunday in the park...which is always fun.

oh..'the new world' = good movie. Interesting that they never actually say the name pocahontas..unless i missed it, but im pretty sure they never say it. It made me want to watch disneys pocahontas...and marry christian bale...though not nessesarily at the same time.

sleep for me...after an excessive spider hunt....

So I havn't updated in pretty much forever.
Here is some fun stuff thats happening with me...

- The other day there were ducks everywhere on campus...I don't know why. I was walking home and there were two ducks on the sidewalk and no other people around...I wasn't sure if ducks attack like geese and swans so I was playing it safe and not trying to walk past them...eventually they looked at me..quacked...and waddled up the path to the house on the corner of the street...like they were going home...I felt sort of like I fell into Beatrix Potter world, except in waterloo instead of nice english countryside.

- Im going to audition for a movie! Thats right, a real live, big studio movie. They're holding open calls for a few of the roles in the movie adapation of the broadway musical HAIRSPRAY. (which...as a side note was originally a movie...its another movie-musical-movie thing...name the other recent one and get a prize...) Im auditioning for Tracy (16 year old, overweight girl with a big smile and a desire to be a dancing star) Im really excited. Even if nothing comes of it (which is likely since they've held open calls all over the place)I think it will be a good experience and it has forced me to get my resume in order.

- I won a prize today in my Evil and Its Symbols class. My prof actually brought in a bag full of prizes (like, pencils, post its, sharpies, a dilbert calendar...etc) and did a fun little quiz to get us thinking about how all of the course content was conected. I said that "evil is...Dracula" could be connected to one of the B movies we watched in which vampires are pretty much stand ins for drug dealers. So that was fun..I won a book called 'Good and Evil' by Martin Buber. good times...I like that class.

- I sang my canadian song "Green Rain" in Vocal lit and it wasn't terrible..one minor rhythm screw up..and my voice was scratchy on two entries, but no big deal. At least it's done. and I now have 4/5 jury pieces memorized and ready to go...YAY!

- I have a play and sing due tomorow that won't be ready due to memorizing one of my jury pieces, so Im going to take late marks and due it on friday.

- I got a card and some spending money from my Nana in the mail and that completely brightened my day!

- Its choir intensive week and my throat is all grumpy and tired.

and thats about it for now.

So I havn't updated in forever!
The rest of my south carolina expereince over reading week was WAY better than the scary hotel room on the way down.
The beach was really nice. Pretty cold, but nice to walk on. We went out to dinner a bunch and watched a ton of Olympics which was fun.
Since Ive been back its just been a lot of everything. Working on organizing the revue, learning lots of music for studio to fill out my rep list, and watching a whole lot of gilmore girls. Im trying to watch season three, but I can't find episodes 2, 3, 4, 6 or 10 on the internet. Its driving me crazy! so if anyone has them on their computer, please share! I must know what happens!! (I am such a TV addict)
And now Im just doing work as usual.
anyway..thats about it.

Some Pictures of South Carolina... )

So Here I am in South Carolina.
We started driving on Saturday, went and picked Craig up in Kingston. We drove something like 7 hours on saturday and then stopped at some hotel that Dad had reserved for us. It was only suppposed to be one level lower than the hotels we normally stay in (which were all full) (and yes I realize I sound spoiled..lol) and this was honestly the scariest hotel room Ive ever been in. My brother, sister and I were sharing a room and we didn't go to sleep 'cause we were way too grosed out. Think thats extreme? here are some pictures...The sketchy chair with a scary white substance on it, the sketchier toilet seat with a scary white substance on it, the weird writing on the bedsheets..and me looking scared. we used our coats as blankets, because the blankets looked sketchy.

Did I mention the scary red light in the bathroom on a timer? Apparently its a heat lamp, but im pretty sure it was to create a nasty nasty mood. Oh...also, pubic hair in the soapdish...awesome. ill definitely stay there again (that was severe sarcasm...if you missed it) There was also hilarious 'bed jumping olympics' where we discovered after watching ski jumping till 3am, that the beds were ridiculously bouncy. This lead to craig and tarah jumping between beds and doing trampoline like moves on the beds. I have video...maybe ill get it uploaded and link to it..its funny. theres also a demonstration by craig of the red light....hilarous.
Anyway...we drove another 10 or 11 hours on sunday, ate at cracker barrel twice (haha) and finaly got to our place in south Carolina. Its really really nice. So far We've just been hanging out, watching the olympics (hockey and skating mostly), walking on the beach etc. Nothing super exciting, but its nice to just hang out here.
I dyed my hair red again!
but don't panick, it looks good this time, its really subtle and its that stuff that comes out after 10 shampoos, so it wasn't a big disater. its really red out in the sun though. I might buy some more of it, I wish I could find a permanet colour that would do the same thing.
We bought and watched Rent last night....I was happy to see it again, its SO good. The long documentary on jonathon larson was really really interesting and also really inspiring. He was happy living in squalar because he was doing what he wanted to do, and had the support of all of his family and friends.
anyway....I think Im going to head back out and go to the beach or something.
more later...
