So here I am back in Brockville...
My exams all went pretty well..having three in two days (written ones) was not particularly pleasant and I couldn't move my hand for much of thursday. But things went well...and going out to Symposium for desert was good fun.
My mom came and picked my up with Tarah on Friday and I pakced way to hastily..and left things like stinky garbage bags in my room...oops!
But Im here in Brockville and have been watching bits of the festival. Its the same vocal adjudicator from four years ago when I was in grade 12. This is the guy that adjudicated the much debated stage and film class where elizabeth sang 'le jazz hot' and I sang 'think of me' and I came second. He keeps stressing that 'gestures' are what make a song...that you could have an action for every word and he would still want more...grrrr. Though I disagree with him on that, I think he's a pretty good adjudicator and is generally pretty positive to the kids..which is good. I wish I had of known that I could have participated this year though (my exams ended before it started) It would have been fun, I really want to sing after watching all the kids.
I got my cast albums that I ordered. I love Lucky Stiff, but I don't think LMT could do it, because Im not sure there would be any way to expand it to more than 10 or 12 people, and we want a cast of around 30. City of angels seems really really guy heavy, and I like the music but it just doens't grab me at all. I like the concept of the show a lot and designing it would be fun, but the music didn't seem right for us, also its a smaller cast. Im listening to anyone can whistle right now, its not bad. I guess I'll have to see the perusal scripts to get a better idea.
So nothing from the hairspray people...Im thinking that its probably over...but still It was a lot of fun. And apparently everyone in brockville played a game of broken telephone with the news of my callback. My first night at the festival I was asked how my three callbacks went, and had I heard back about my callback for the movie Cats. (whereupon I almost peed myself)
anyway...Im off to sleep, or clean or something.
